Mobile Marketing

Tonight we made a bold move. We removed our “join our email list” form from our website and replaced it instead with an option to sign up for our text updates. I have to be honest it was kind of weird. Partly because email marketing has been all we knew. But one thing we have learned is that technology is moving faster than light and as technology changes we need to be willing to take a honest look and make changes when change makes sense. For us this change makes perfect sense and we are ready and excited to see what happens. There is no denying that the mobile revolution is upon us and that there has been a major shift in which people interact with each other and with your brand. We need to pay attention as business owners. The cost is to great and if we sit around waiting to see what happens it will be to late. We need to embrace mobile marketing and learn how to use it to our advantage. Here we will take some time to talk about mobile marketing and our mobile marketing service. All of which played a major role in our decision to remove our email newsletter option from our website.

In November 2009, the Mobile Marketing Association updated its definition of Mobile Marketing:

“Mobile Marketing is a set of practices that enables organizations to communicate and engage with their audience in an interactive and relevant manner through any mobile device or network.”

We will not take time here to discuss all the options available to us in mobile marketing. Instead we will focus on one aspect of mobile marketing and that is using text messaging as a communication platform for delivering targeted marketing messages. Once a person opts in to receive your messages you can start sending coupons, event and/or company news, reminders, holiday greetings, alerts, or other time sensitive information directly to their mobile phones.

SMS (Text) messaging is the most prevalent form of mobile marketing. Studies show that 91% of the U.S. population are using some type of wireless device. And the percentage of those phones being capable of sending and receiving text messages is at 96%.

Our mobile marketing services help you distribute time sensitive information – right to your customers. And the success rate of your customers actually seeing your message is much greater with a read rate of 95% within the first 15 minutes. With mobile marketing using text messages you are sure to get your message out and read by your customers at a much faster rate. Get your message delivered to your customers right where they are -on their mobile devices. I do want to make one comment. By no means do I think that email marketing is dead -yet. It is still an option. However, it will be interesting to see what happens over the next few months and years. I am also curious to see how long it will take other Ohio web design companies to take the leap and to step up their mobile marketing game

Tips for a Good SEO Web Design

Although social networking is what everyone is talking about these days, search engine marketing is still as relevant as it ever was. If anything, the content being produced by social media sites had increased the use of search engines as a way of cutting through the chatter to get to the information they are looking for. Although making sure your content is optimized to rank well in the search engines, having a good design created by an Ohio website design firm also plays a part in an effective search engine marketing strategy. Here are a few tips for making sure your web template is SEO friendly.

Appropriate Header Tags – Your Ohio website design company should incorporate header tags in the right places. In addition to structuring your content in a readable way, header tags tell a search engine what is the most important piece of information is on your site. For example, content between H1 tags dictate that it is the most important thing on the page. Therefore, the name of the site should be in between these tags. The titles of your articles should be inside of H2 tags and H3 tags and below should be used for headers in the sidebar and sub headers in your content.

Structure – It doesn’t matter if your sidebar is on the left or the right. The most important thing is how the content on your site is structured behind the scenes. The Ohio website design firm should code your template so that your articles load first and everything else afterwards. The reason for this is twofold. First, it will make it easier for the search engine robots to index your content. The second reason is that your visitors will be able to start reading your articles while waiting for everything else on your site to load into the browser screen.

Link Structure – Your site navigation should be structured in such a way that your web visitors are able to get to all of the pages on your website within one or two clicks. Not only does this make it convenient for your visitors but search engine robots find content by following links. If links to your articles are not easily accessible then it may not get indexed by the search engine. Put your most important links in a navigation bar and make sure the Ohio website design company creates a sitemap that lists all of the content on your site and links to it from the first page.
